Excerpt:

Groaning, whipping wind thrashed against the motorhome as it cruised along an old two-lane highway. A nauseated Jamie dug her fingertips deeper into the faux-granite tabletop; her pink nails turned to snow white. She struggled to keep her gaze steady out of the large side window and toward the more stable horizon while the gentle, yet tortuous, swaying of the hours-long RV ride grew more rigid with every gust and pothole -or sinkhole, she thought with each thud.
“You look pale-ish, green. Are you ok?” Sean, her husband of nine years, asked, trying to be compassionate from across the table. His short brown hair and long red beard glistened in the sunlight, but not as brightly as his piercing green eyes. Jamie smiled with a sudden sense of comfort from him, but it was subdued by a harsh lurch from another rush of wind off the nearby water, bringing her full attention back to her motion sickness.
The RV was brand new, straight off the lot. Jim and Rita had been saving for their retirement with a vision of seeing the world, but they had only made it as far as the other side of the state; inviting Jamie and Sean to join them on their maiden voyage.
